Call for Applications: Buddhism Public Scholars Fellowships in Buddhist Studies (ACLS)

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) invites applications for the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Buddhism Public Scholars Fellowships. This program places recent PhD recipients in professional positions at cultural institutions 
(museums, libraries, and publications) that present and interpret knowledge of Buddhist traditions. Selected fellows will receive competitive compensation packages (up to USD 75,000 in the US, GBP 57,000 in the UK, or CAD 84,000 in Canada), with one-year positions beginning in September 2026 and the option to renew for another year.
 

Deadline: January 27, 2026, at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Eligibility: Applicants must hold a PhD in the humanities or social sciences conferred between September 1, 2020 and June 30, 2026, and must have authorization to work in the country of the host institution. Applicants may apply for up to two positions.
