The Department of Anthropology (Archaeology) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking an outstanding candidate for Research Assistant Professorship specialized in Archaeology with a geographical focus on Asia. Ideal candidate should have:  (i)    PhD degree in Archaeology;  (ii)   Strong commitment to excellence in research; and   (iii)   A good track record of publishing.  Successful candidate will be expected to (a) conduct top-tier independent and joint research; (b) apply for RGC GRF grants and similar external competitive grants once a year; (c) teach one undergraduate/postgraduate course once a year throughout the 3-year contract, and (d) participate in Departmental life. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Appointment will be made on contract basis for three years commencing August 2021.
