The Institute for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech 南方科技大学) invites applications for full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Studies at ranks of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor, to begin in August, 2022.

The successful candidates of the four areas (Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Studies, Urban Studies, New Media and Visual Culture, and Science, Technology and Society)will contribute to social science curricula that encourage interdisciplinary approach. Quality undergraduate teaching and mentorship, as well as innovative research and service are expected. With the exception of senior candidates with tenure, initial appointment will normally be made on a three-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Tenure review and promotion normally take place before completion of the second three-year contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have a PhD degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Senior candidates are expected to have a high international standing in the fields, with an exceptional track record of high-quality research and scholarly publications. The university teaching languages are English and Chinese. Satisfactory knowledge of Chinese is preferable but not required.
