The mini-conference “Distant Past(s) – Current Future(s): Digitization, Digital Objects and Datafication Approaches in Ancient and Medieval Studies” will take place on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, from 09:00 to 17:30 KST, as a pre-conference event of DH2026 “Engagement” in Daejeon, South Korea.

The Marco Polo Centre for Global Europe-Asia Connections (MaP) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice invites applications for a funded Visiting Scholar position with Publication Grant. The position is open to early-career and established scholars working on Asia-Europe connections, including history, literature, art history and archaeology, religion, linguistics, anthropology, and area studies. The selected scholar will spend at least 45 consecutive days at MaP before July 2027 and work on an advanced manuscript intended for publication in the Marco Polo Book Series OA Gold. The grant provides up to €10,000, including support for travel, subsistence, and publication expenses. Applications are due by 5 June 2026, 12:00 noon.

The Society for East Asian Archaeology (SEAA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the Graduate Student Paper Awards presented at the 10th International Conference of the Society for East Asian Archaeology (SEAA 10). This year’s awards recognise outstanding graduate research by Sunjung Lee (Kyungpook National University) and Yun-chun Kan (University College London), whose papers demonstrate methodological rigor and substantive contributions to East Asian archaeology.
